New Beginnings

Getting back from England and being thrown straight into launching The Hive, has been, well exhausting!  I am very excited to be starting this new venture, but a little scared as well.   This has been in the planning for so long, but making it a reality, is something quite different!

I wanted to start now, as fall is approaching at a rapid rate and that to me means, warm and cosy and finding inside crafts to do.  So I thought, if we launch mid October, people can learn new skills and maybe even craft some of their own Christmas gifts.  However, when offering a service company, it is not as straight forward as say, a store.  First, we have to find the instructors.  I have been very lucky to find some amazing instructors who are willing to help me get The Hive launched.  We are going to be offering courses on knitting, crochet, working your sewing machine, pant hemming, paper making, Christmas decorations and card printing.  I am hoping to have a schedule by the end of this week.  The next thing and probably one of the most important, is YOU!  I need people to book, please try us out and help get us started.

I was also at Bowfest on Saturday, selling wares from my other company ragdollyanna.  Selling at the markets was one of the things that inspired me to start The Hive, as so many customers say they would love to learn different skills and have no idea where to start.  I believe their is a crafty person in everyone.  If I can do it, so can you!

The Hive had been featured in the Bowen Undercurrent on the Friday, please take a little look at the article....The Hive

I will be at the Family Place resource fair on Saturday the 11th of September, which is being held at the Bowen Island Community School. Please come along and say hello!  I will have a full list of courses, costs and times.

I am still on the lookout for talented instructors, specifically to jewellery making, beginners quilting and sewing. So if you are an instructor or you know of one, please send them my details!  So all in all, busy, busy busy.
