BOWEN ISLAND

Thinking about coming over for a day trip or attending/selling at one the Hive's seasonal markets? Here's some fun facts and important info about our little piece of paradise.

Where is Bowen? This hilly, potato shaped island, is located in the Howe Sound. A frequent 20 minute ferry crossing from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver will bring you to the rocky shores of Bowen Island. The ferry pulls into aptly named Snug Cove, with it's historic Union Steamship Company store, its Regional Park information site, and its commercial centre. No need for a car as the trail systems, restaurants and shopping start as soon as you step foot onto 'the rock'.

Bowen is home to about three thousand artists, daily commuters, writers and happy retirees. It's about 10 kilometers long and a little over 5 kilometers in length. The terrain is quite steep as it's part of the Coast Range and therefore more mountainous and hilly than the other Gulf Islands. So keep that in mind when choosing to walk or bike over.

Here's some helpful links to make your visit perfect. If you are a new business on Bowen and would like to be part of this list, please don't hesitate to contact us. Hope to see you soon.
